Sunnysiders are in for great fun along with great savings on holiday shopping this year, and it’s all kicking off on November 26th with the Sunnyside Shines Holiday Lighting. Starting at 6 pm in front of the Sunnyside Library at (43-06 Greenpoint Avenue), a host of local performers will be ushering in a new season of holiday lights while the community enjoys free hot chocolate, candy canes, and visits with Santa Claus. The Fabulous Fezziwig Carolers will start the festivities, followed by the Sunnyside Ballet (performing pieces from the Nutcracker Ballet) and Dance Matters NYC. The Sunnyside Drum Corps will herald the ceremonial lighting of our 3-D lighted snowflake, followed by additional performances by the Manhatitlan Mexican Dancers and McManus Irish Dance. Nearby restaurants I Love Paraguay (43-16 Greenpoint Avenue) and Senso Unico Restaurant (43-04 47th Avenue) will offer free samples of some of their choicest appetizers to visitors, while supplies last.
