Request for Proposals – Website Development & Redesign

The Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District (BID) is requesting proposals from web developers and designers with the purpose of refreshing the design of Sunnyside Shines’ current website and converting the website content from Drupal platform to WordPress. We are seeking web developers with expertise in Drupal, WordPress and user experience, preferably with experience in web development work for other nonprofits.

The Sunnyside Shines BID is a nonprofit organization working to promote and beautify the commercial corridors of Queens Boulevard and Greenpoint Avenue in Sunnyside, Queens. Sunnyside is a diverse and dynamic growing neighborhood with a vibrant mix of independent businesses, restaurants from all over the world and plentiful neighborhood services. The neighborhood contains strong visual elements including the elevated 7 train structure and the Sunnyside arch.

The BID was formed in 2008 and seeks to redesign the current website to reflect the latest strategies in seamless and intuitive web design, both in the front and back-end.

Scope of Project

Convert the BID’s website server host from Drupal to WordPress
Redesign of the website to increase user friendliness, while matching the aesthetics of the BID’s current branding

Timeline & Process

RFP posting and distribution - August 13, 2018

Submission deadline - Friday, September 21, 5pm

Review and selection of vendor - September 24 – 28, 2018

Briefing & work to begin - November 3, 2018

Submission requirements

Please submit samples of identity work within a submission email. You may include links to your work online but please be sure to include some sample work within the email itself.
Please include an hourly rate for future development work as well as a quote for the project presented.
Submissions with attachments will NOT be considered.
Please put the words “BID Web Development Submission” in the subject line of your email.
