Invest in Sunnyside Queens

How It Works

Thinking of expanding your business?  Check out Sunnyside!

Sunnyside is a vibrant yet quaint neighborhood conveniently located just east of Long Island City in Western Queens.  We have great public transit access via the 7 line and a diverse, dense mix of residents and shoppers.  We are looking to improve our retail mix along Queens Boulevard and Greenpoint Avenue with businesses that will provide a better variety and higher quality of goods to our shoppers.  Sunnyside residents spend $227 million every year on goods and services outside of our neighborhood – and we are looking to capture more of that spending within our district.

Our Wish List

We looked at market data and responses from our 2013 shopper survey. At that time, the community indicated an interest in bringing these types of businesses to Queens Boulevard and Greenpoint Avenue:

Housewares stores, clothing & shoe stores, general merchandise (retailers that combine categories like housewares, gifts & clothing), independent coffee shops, furniture stores, more full-service restaurants, a bakery and a bicycle shop.

We are currently embarking on a CDNA (Commercial District Needs Assessment) that will give us a more current snapshot of local shopper’s needs. Stay tuned to our website and newsletter to learn more when our findings are ready!
