Peter, owner of Pete's Grill located at 39-14 Queens Boulevard, Sunnyside, Queens is described as "honest, straight-forward, and trustworthy...but sometimes too serious" by Davi, his wife and operations manager of the popular neighborhood diner.
Growing up New York City, Peter has been immersed in diner culture since he was born; his parents operated theirs for years, specializing in Greek food and he is serious about serving up that experience to his customers. "For me, there are two things for a successful restaurant. One is excellent customer service, and two is great quality food," Pete says with conviction as we sat sipping coffee at a window booth overlooking the hustle and bustle of Queens Boulevard.
Their menu offers all the fare of a NYC classic diner from all day breakfast to Greek and Italian dishes. Peter also serves specialties of their own such as Pete's Pasta (angel hair pasta with spinach, red roasted red peppers & baby shrimp tossed in a pink sauce). Though, our eyes are on their Pete's Grill Deluxe Delight served with French toast, pancakes or waffles with bacon, ham, sausage and two egg any style. Oh, and that bottomless coffee all day long.
