Manager Boris Shamailov of Pearle Vision
Known by many, Pearle Vision located at 48-11 Queens Boulevard is run by manager Boris Shamailov and his staff of four, which includes an onsite optician. The friendly and dedicated team strives to provide the best quality eye care, selection of prescription glasses and sunglasses, and customer service in the neighborhood.
Boris, who has been working at Pearle Vision for over fifteen years, has glowing words about the neighborhood. "Sunnyside is a trendy and up-and-coming neighborhood," says Boris. "The community is strong and I am impressed by the people I've met here for all these years, whom are all ready to lend a helping hand. It is truly one of a kind." Boris and staff members Claudia and Denia cite Bing's Gifts, Paris Baguette, Flowers by Giorgie and Butcher Block as some of their favorite local shops in the commercial corridor. "I love the Butcher Block," Boris exclaims. "Their chicken salad sandwich is always fresh, and their food selection is great in general."
Having been in Sunnyside for over 20 years, the business continues to innovate; since 2015, Pearle Vision has made 90% of prescription glasses in-store with their new lab.
