Sunnyside Shines Light Pole Banners Installed Today
The Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District’s (BID) first-ever light pole banners were installed today!
As part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to promote and maintain a welcoming, friendly, and dynamic commercial district and neighborhood, Sunnyside Shines has installed 61 light pole banners throughout the BID area along Queens Boulevard and Greenpoint Avenue. The banners will be in position for one year.
The light pole banner program is a brand new neighborhood initiative for the Sunnyside Shines BID. The banners aim to promote the Sunnyside neighborhood with a fun, friendly design that is visible to commuters and pedestrians while also providing an opportunity to showcase local businesses. The bottom portion of the light pole banner was available for sponsorship, and in total 18 local businesses took part in the program.
As Platinum Pharmacy owner Diana Mets-Hagopian states, “Sunnyside is my home, I love to see it prosper and grow…I am happy to support local businesses and show what an advocate we are for the neighborhood.”
These comments were echoed by the new Sunnyside Shines Executive Director Jaime-Faye Bean who states, “The new banners are a beautiful enhancement to the Sunnyside streetscape and a celebration of our strong, unified identity as a neighborhood. We are deeply grateful to the program’s merchant sponsors, who bring such vitality and dedication to our business community.”
