Mi Nuevo Rancho serves up some of the freshest Mexican food in town. Tucked away on Greenpoint Avenue near the Sunnyside branch of the Queens Public Library, Mi Nuevo Rancho specializes in the delicious cuisine of Puebla, Mexico, which is known for its mole poblano, a rich, chocolatey sauce served alongside meats, vegetables, enchiladas or rice.
Operator Lucia Morales loves her location in Sunnyside. “The people are so friendly here and the neighborhood is beautiful,” she said. Mi Nuevo Rancho has been located in Sunnyside since 2005 and prides itself on its fresh food, all made in house.
TIPS: In addition to the mole poblano, the Asado Ranchero plate is very popular, according to Lucia Morales. It consists of beef, nopal (cactus), guacamole, cheese, pork skin, rice, beans and plantains, all for $13.99. Tacos can be had a la carte for $2.50 each, or a plate with two tacos, rice, beans and guacamole is $6.99.
