A friendly, local way to take the stress out of tax season
It’s tax season, and Juliana Isaziga is a friendly face in the neighborhood to help you through the worst of it. Juliana has managed Sunnyside’s Liberty Tax for the past eight years, and has been a proud Sunnyside resident for fourteen years. At Greenpoint Avenue’s Liberty Tax, she helps individuals file their personal tax returns, does sales tax prep for local businesses, notarizes documents and assists individuals with ITIN applications.
Juliana wants to take the stress and anxiety out of tax season. “I love to help people, it’s the best part of my job,” she says. “When I am filing taxes for a customer or providing a free consultation, I show them the screen and go through their return line by line to explain what we’re able to claim. It really demystifies the whole process.” She and her colleagues at Liberty Tax speak a variety of languages to assist non-English speaking customers. There’s even a giant world map inside the office with pins showing their customers’ countries of origin.
When Juliana isn’t filing taxes for Sunnysiders, you can find her at one of her favorite restaurants in the neighborhood, Arriba Arriba, Bar 43 or de Mole, the Colombian bakery El Pilon, or the Lou Lodati dog park with her miniature pinscher. She especially loves Sunnyside in the warmer months, when people come out onto the sidewalks and local events like the Taste of Sunnyside start popping up. If you have any questions about filing your taxes and want some friendly local help, stop in to see Juliana at Liberty Tax.
