Sunnyside families came out to celebrate the lighting of the holiday lights on November 22nd. Joined by Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer, Senator Michael Gianaris and Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, Sunnyside Shines hosted the event, featuring Santa, and performances from the Fabulous Fezziwigs and the Sunnyside Drum Corps. Sunnyside Shines reminded the crowd to shop local for the holidays with the Sunnyside Passport, which features deals and discounts at 19 local businesses in the neighborhood.
