Small business owner Martha Campos first stepped foot in the beauty industry twenty-two years ago, opening her first salon in her hometown of Ambato, Ecuador. There, the salon was the first of its kind introducing facials and waxing. Since moving to Queens, she continues to provide those beauty services, along with haircuts, makeovers, and nail services through her business Blush & Glow Day Spa. Her inspiration? She enjoys helping people to feel confident. "Every client deserves a customized experience because each has different needs and condition of skin", emphasizes Martha.
Blush & Glow relocated to 44-09 Queens Boulevard six years ago and Martha recounts moving her business to Sunnyside as "the best move in my life". Having lived in Sunnyside before, she knew the community and enjoys its friendliness and convenience. Since then, her business has expanded to six employees, which includes a make-up artist, aesthetician, and hair stylist. Always looking for new services and techniques that her clients would enjoy, Martha recently added microdermabrasion and a hydrofacial system to their facial treatments. The salon also looks to recent trends for inspiration, offering balayage, a highlighting technique that delivers a natural look to your hair.
