ABOUT SUNNYPRIDE

More than 2,000 people participated in last year’s SunnyPride, and this year’s event is destined to attract even more attendees and sponsors. It will be a highly-visible opportunity to showcase your talent and enrich the cultural life of our community.

With the rise in legislative, rhetorical, and physical assaults on LGBTQ+ people across the country, we need to stand up in support of our community now more than ever. We stand with the transgender community. We stand with Drag Queen Story Hour. We stand with LGBTQ+ people and allies who are under attack. We are coming together to show support for the LGBTQ+ community and to proclaim that Sunnyside is welcoming to all people.

The event will begin with remarks from elected officials and community leaders, followed by a drum band-led march through the heart of Sunnyside, and conclude with a celebration featuring performers, food, refreshments, and a Queer Makers Mart. SunnyPride’s sponsors include local groups and businesses, and co-organizers include Sunnyside Community Services and Queens Community Board 2.
